That’s right; it’s that time again, the Illinois cosmetology license renewal period. If you are a cosmetologist or esthetician in Illinois the license renewal deadline is right around the corner, September 30th to be precise.
Prior to your license renewal you are required to complete cosmetology continuing education:
- cosmetologists 14 hours
- estheticians 10 hours
- nail technicians 10 hours
(Note: This renewal is Oct 31st on even years)
To ease the process of meeting requirements in time for the renewal deadline Illinois licensees can take half of their cosmetology ce courses online. The Illinois license renewal period will officially begin July 2nd. The state licensing division said they will send postcards for the renewal mid to late July for cosmetologists and about the first week of August for estheticians. If your address has changed, go to https://www.idfpr.com/DPR/CHG_INFO/DEFAULT.asp to update your address with the licensing division. The license renewal fee is $50 and there is a $10 late fee if you miss the deadline.
