Attention all NC Licensees!

North Carolina cosmetology license renewal began July 1st. All licensed cosmetologist, estheticians and nail technicians must renew their license by September 30th.

According to the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners “In late April, over 78% of cosmetologists still had not completed the required 24 hours of CE.” If you submit your renewal without proof of completing the required continuing education your renewal will be deemed incomplete and you will be subject to late fees and possible license suspension.

To ease the CE requirement process cosmetologist may complete 8 hours of required ce online, nail technicians and estheticians may complete 4 hours online. Go to cosmetologycampus.com and enroll in online courses today. Enroll in an 8 hour online course package and save an entire days earnings you would loose if you took these courses in a classroom during business hours.

When you finish your required ce courses complete your North Carolina cosmetology renewal online.

Renewal processing time based on renewal method:
Online 2 weeks
Paid with money order 2 - 3 weeks
Paid by check 4 weeks

If your license is not renewed by September 30 you are required to stop working until your license is reinstated or face possible civil penalty.

For additional North Carolina Cosmetology license renewal questions refer to the NC State board or call the board at 919-733-4117 x227 for Audra Mayhand, Personal License Processor or x230 for Deana Thomas, License processing Assistant.
